Copyright? No!! Copywrong

It’s a little-known fact that Winnie the Pooh has a quote for every aspect of your life.

There are gushy quotes, like “If you live to be a hundred, I want to live to be a hundred minus one day, so I never have to live without you”, and “’We’ll be Friends Forever, won’t we Pooh?’ asked Piglet. ‘Even longer,’ Pooh answered.”

And there are quotes to give you strength and make you believe in yourself, such as “You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think.”

All of these are penned by the marvellous A.A. Milne in the Winnie the Pooh series of books.

What many people do not realise, is that all of these quotes are covered by copyright law. We are regularly asked to make and sell quotes like these as wall stickers. And sadly, we just can’t do it – we believe it is important to protect intellectual property and we also really don’t want to get involved in any breach of copyright cases. This also applies to superheroes, Disney characters, song lyrics, film quotes and much more. Yes, you probably can find all these things being sold as wall stickers and wall art all over the web – but unless the supplier is a licensed reseller, we would recommend avoiding them. They are often cheap and poor-quality rip-offs, and the original author or business will certainly not receive a penny from your purchase.

So, as much we love your custom, please don’t ask us to create you a wall sticker from someone else’s work unless we have written authorisation to use it from the originator or it is in the public domain and can be used by anyone.
